Your mission

As Business Development Manager (m/f/d) you actively support our quantum computing start-up in driving our business growth by managing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and foster partnerships. Therefore, we are looking for an outgoing personality and creative mind with strong project management skills.

  • Driving sales of PoC (Proof of Concept) projects, including nurturing leads, and managing the sales process from the begin to signing
  • Identify target markets and customer segments for our quantum computing algorithms and software products
  • Executing our comprehensive business development strategy aligned with company goals
  • Preparing documents for customers, e.g. offers, SoWs, slide decks, brochures etc.
  • Ensuring the CRM system and related data repositories are kept tidy and up-to-date, including proper and legally-compliant filing of documents per policies and procedures
  • Preparing internal reports to management per schedule or upon request and liaising with internal functions at Kipu
  • Supporting the research about potential customers, contacts, market geographies, or industries, analyse the results, and prepare reports on these

Your profile

  • Successful completed studies in economics (e.g. business administration, sales, business development, marketing) or science (e.g. Physics, Chemistry, Material Science) or comparable qualifications
  • Ability to build and nurture strong relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders
  • Several years of experience in selling PoC projects in a start-up or deep-tech environment
  • Experience in the international quantum computing or software sector with a proven track record in complex business deals would be an advantage
  • True start-up mindset; hands-on, driven, resilient. As we are a young venture, we all must wear different hats and contribute to different aspects of the business
  • Excellent command of English is necessary and German is a big plus

IP Manager (m/f/d) in Quantum Computing Start-Up

Your mission

As an IP Manager (m/f/d) in a quantum computing start-up, you will play a crucial role in managing and protecting the company's intellectual property assets, as this role involves overseeing the identification, assessment, and protection of inventions, innovations, and technologies developed within the organization.

  • Primary point of contact for all scientific and administrative matters related to intellectual property
  • Creation and implementation of IP policies and processes in close cooperation with the external patent attorney and the IP-Committee
  • Ensure that the company's intellectual property portfolio is strategically managed and aligned with business goals
  • Work closely with our tech team and internal inventors to understand technology roadmaps, to identify areas for intellectual property development and to stay up-to-date with the status of filed patents
  • Filing and reviewing patent applications and invention disclosure forms from inventors
  • Assess the freedom to operate for the company's products and technologies, detecting and addressing potential infringements
  • Regular review of current scientific literature to stay updated on emerging technologies, advancements, and research that might intersect with IP concerns with specific regard to Quantum computing

Your profile

  • Completed studies in a scientific or economic field, e.g. physics, chemistry, computer science, law or equivalent qualifications
  • Well-founded experience in working with a patent attorney or a patent department of a university institution 
  • Familiarity with patent laws and procedures in relevant jurisdictions
  • A basic understanding of quantum computing concepts would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

As Quantum Algorithm Engineer (m/f/d) you will be part of our Innovation team, a smart, creative and revolutionary group of ambitious Scientists and Engineers, desire to make a significant impact and push the boundaries of what is possible.

  • You will be developing quantum algorithms to tackle industry-relevant problems on available noisy quantum computing hardware towards achieving quantum advantage
  • You will be developing Kipu Quantum computing paradigms on digital-analog quantum computing, digitized-counterdiabatic quantum computing, and analog quantum computing
  • You will be part of contributing to patent applications, scientific articles, and white papers

Your profile

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, or any other comparable field, ideally with specialization in quantum computing and/or quantum information
  • A robust and diverse quantum computing skill set and interdisciplinary experience in at least two of the following areas:
    • Quantum Many-Body Physics: Understanding complex quantum systems
    • Quantum Information Science, Computing, and Simulation: In-depth knowledge of quantum algorithms
    • Tensor Networks, DMRG, and Monte Carlo Simulation Techniques: Expertise in advanced computational methods
    • Quantum Machine Learning and Optimization Problems: Applying quantum computing to machine learning or optimization challenges
    • Understanding of Quantum Hardware: Knowledge of neutral atoms, trapped ions, superconducting circuits, and photonics, among others, including experimental background or hands-on experience with cloud quantum computers
    • Quantum Algorithms for Chemistry and Material Design: Experience developing algorithms for quantum chemistry calculations and material design
    • Quantum Complexity Theory: Proficiency in the theoretical aspects of quantum computing.
    • Quantum Algorithms for Finance: Experience in applying quantum algorithms to solve problems in finance
  • Ability to innovate and apply quantum computing principles across interdisciplinary sectors, including finance, chemistry, and material science
  • Hands-on experience with quantum hardware and a deep understanding of the latest advancements in quantum technology
  • Ability to think critically, innovate, and contribute significantly to quantum computing

Your mission

As an intern or working student (m/f/d) in Operations Research (OR) you will be part of our development team and work at the intersection of quantum computing and operational research, leveraging your skills in mathematical modelling, and optimization algorithms. This role offers a unique blend of theoretical and practical experience, allowing you to contribute directly to the success of our cutting-edge projects.

  • Identify applications of quantum computing in operation research for various industry sectors
  • Estimate relevance of operational research solution in large-scale industrial application
  • Explore and implement classical heuristic algorithm to solve optimization problems in internal proof of concept projects
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management
  • Contribute to the development of tools and software solutions to solve optimization problem, leveraging your programming skills and understanding of relevant technologies

Your profile

  • You are a student enrolled at a German university, pursuing a bachelor's (> 3 Semester), master’s or PhD degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Strong mathematical background with knowledge of optimization techniques, linear algebra, heuristic algorithms, and probability theory
  • Proficiency in programming in Python, with experience and basics of algorithm development
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to think critically and creatively
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Enthusiasm for quantum computing and its potential applications in solving real-world problems
